What do I do if the file is locked even though Outlook ist closed? Please begin by checking if other programs may lock the PST file: ActiveSync, E-Mail notification tools, Spam-Filter, additional search programs. If Outlook crashed, the PST files may still be locked and only a reboot will help. Further it may take some time to unlock the PST file after Outlook was closed (up to a minute in some cases).
